Geography Curriculum
Intent for our Geography Curriculum
Our Geography Curriculum is designed to instil a lasting love and enthusiasm for geography in our children. We believe that fostering a passion for the subject from a young age sparks curiosity about the world, encouraging exploration and ongoing learning beyond their school years.
Our curriculum equips children with essential knowledge and understanding of both physical and human geography, providing a solid foundation for their future education. This foundation enables pupils to comprehend the relationships that shape their communities and the broader global context.
We also place significant emphasis on developing transferable geography skills that can be applied in diverse contexts. Through engaging activities, pupils enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis abilities. These skills are vital not only within geography lessons but across all subjects and real-life situations, thus preparing them for future educational challenges.
Our curriculum maintains high expectations while ensuring inclusivity. We are dedicated to addressing the varying needs of all learners, fostering a supportive environment through a variety of teaching methods. This commitment allows every child, regardless of their starting point, to thrive. Through this approach, we aim to develop informed, thoughtful, and responsible global citizens, ready to engage with the world.
