Wellbeing at Grosvenor Road

At Grosvenor Road Primary School, we are committed to supporting the emotional wellbeing of our pupils and staff by fostering an environment which promotes positive emotional wellbeing. We recognise how important emotional wellbeing is to our lives in just the same way as physical health. Our role in school is to ensure that children are able to understand and talk about their emotions as well as manage times of change and stress effectively.

Wellbeing at our school is embedded through a graduated approach offering Universal, Targeted and Specialist support, focusing on:

1. Staff Wellbeing and School Ethos

2. Classroom Practice

3. Assessing children’s needs

4. Supporting individual children

Our Emotionally Friendly School Champions are:

Mrs Johns – Assistant Headteacher and SENCo

Mrs Bates – Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Miss Collins – Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Mrs Payne – Children and Families Development Officer

i-Reach at Grosvenor Road Primary School

As part of the Salford Thrive in Education offer, CAMHS i-Reach is a ‘getting help’ outreach service that offers low intensity school-based interventions for children and young people. Here at Grosvenor Road, we were successful in our application to become a THRIVE school and engage with i-Reach.

An i-Reach practitioner can work with pupils each week. All pupil referrals to i-Reach must be made by our mental health lead in school, Mrs Johns. i-Reach welcome referrals for the following difficulties:

  • Low mood

  • Anxiety

  • Simple Phobias

  • Worry

  • Behavioural & emotional regulatory problems

  • Sleep difficulties

If you want to discuss this or feel that your child would benefit from i-Reach involvement, please contact Mrs Johns via the main school email address.
